Networking events are missing the point

In my opinion a lot of “networking” groups are missing the point. Or they don’t understand it to begin with.speak_no_evil

Being around other women isn’t a “nice to have” – it’s a neurological necessity. Our brains are wired for connection.

And if you think “women supporting women” is just a nice quote and a trend to jump on, you’re missing the literal biology behind why female connection isn’t just empowering—it’s essential.

Here’s the science they don’t talk about in your average biz circle:

Women co-regulate each other’s nervous systems.

Not metaphorically.

Physiologically.

When women gather in safe, emotionally attuned environments, our parasympathetic nervous systems (aka: the calm-the-hell-down switch) sync.

We breathe easier.
Cortisol drops.
Oxytocin rises.

And suddenly, things that felt overwhelming 10 minutes ago are manageable.

This isn’t spiritual woo. It’s science-backed.

Study after study shows that female social bonding is a primal, nervous-system regulating function.

We’re literally built to “tend and befriend” in moments of stress—and when you remove that?

Burnout. Disconnection. Dysregulation.

Why this matters for women in business – especially neurodivergent women wave

Because entrepreneurship is already a nervous system minefield.

• Uncertainty- Daily.
• Rejection- yeah, probably.
• Sensory overload from social media, client calls, and scheduling- F*cking Constant.

Now layer on ADHD, autism, or heightened emotional sensitivity…

and you’ve got women who aren’t just overwhelmed—they’re physiologically flooded.

Which is exactly why our relaxed, co-regulating networking events aren’t just nice.

They’re non-negotiable, in my opinion. smile

No forced pitching.
No awkward intros.

Just safe, intentional space where your system can exhale—and your business brain can actually function.

No “marketing hacks” will work until your body feels safe enough to actually show up.

What we do at our events (that most people haven’t even thought about)…

white_check_mark Create sensory-safe, judgment-free environments
white_check_mark Centre emotional attunement over elevator pitches
white_check_mark Make space for real conversation, not just conversion
white_check_mark Build actual relationships that regulate, not drain

We’re not networking for clients or clout.

We’re co-regulating for capacity.

And if you’re a neurodivergent woman building her business?

You especially need this. 🤌🏻

Because you’ve probably been told to “just push through” or “be more consistent” when your nervous system is screaming “No.”

We say: Come as you are.

And leave more resourced than you arrived.
